Accidental Dogs
Most people have a preference for either dogs or bitches. We have kept more bitches than dogs, but they come with added complications; seasons.
Our friend Jim uses border collies for farmwork, and swears by dogs; we keep GSPs, one of each sex, and swear about them.
In our experience, the dog tends to be more upfront; he will pinch off the table in an absent moment, and pee over your bag if there is nothing higher around. The bitch on the other hand, tends to be more subtle; she will pinch an egg out of the nest, but only if you are not looking. She tends to be more obedient; if she is on the lead and you are not paying her attention, she will pee as she is walking rather than interrupt your talk.
