Spaniels their breaking for sport and field trials

Using the term breaking has gone out of favour in modern times. It was never intended to imply damaging the animal in any way, and in fact many of these old gundog training books could almost be contemporary in their concern for maintaining the spirit of the dog.

I picked this book up from eBay

and enjoyed it, although it is not a "Must read without putting it down" book, and I still have not finished, which is unusual for me and dog books.

If you can get a copy, (it is currently available in a republished form on Amazon) and it does not strike you as expensive, you may enjoy it, but don't think it will replace one of Joe Irving's books, which I have reviewed elsewhere on this site.
